Qué Calor, the Cie
LANABEL new creation, is the product of an exceptional meeting
between two universe, the industrial and creative worlds.
As a starting point, the choreographer Annabelle Bonnéry's
fascination for production lines, gesture automation, human
and space organisation of a factory.
A collaboration has started with an industrial group : visits
of the factory, video and audio captations, testimonies, meetings,
exchanges. At the outcome, noises and movement from production
sites for a choreographical piece ; a precise and constructed
gestural language, a sensitive and artistic glance, which
question an economic reality. A creation, which chooses to
offer the best part to the human nature and her capability
for adaptation and mutation.

NVO - June
17th 2005 : " a miracle
out and on stage, this Saturday 28th of May : repeated and
style jerky movements which file without time out, astonished
and enthusiasmed public. "
La
Marseillaise - July 26th 2005 : " a choreographic
work meticulously built ; one would not dare to say a piece
because this would remove any reference to purity, grace and
harmony of the four dancers movement. "
Le Dauphiné
Libéré - november 27th 2005 : "
The choreographical piece evolves towards more humanity while
the obsessional and oppressive sound universe slightly lightens
step by step. A show that one wishes to see again and again
as it is so dense and rich. Beautiful work "

Very organised micro-societies are alienating for the individuals
who are part of them, while fascinating for those who are
discovering them, where a goal, and only one goal, gathers
everybody: producing, creating, manufacturing.
Daring to go through the doorstep of this foreign territory,
actually and physically becoming aware of, hustling our prejudices,
and... finding ties?
With the project
Qué Calor, Annabelle Bonnéry and François
Deneulin wish to provoke the meeting between the industrial
and the artistic worlds. Their reflexion and research around
the movement and the relation with the body and the gesture
are the bases of the work for an exchange. Their presence
in the industrial firm allows them to be immersed in the
factory life, its functioning, its constraints and its rituals
to creative endings.
This
work can be defined through three axes :
|
|
|

|
- immersion.
The artistic team met the workers. Visits to three
factories ; meetings with the direction of the firms, interviews,
discussions with workers, soundtracks and filming were realised
from April to December 2004.
Annabelle Bonnéry and François Deneulin took
part in a factory workshop about body impacts generated
by automatically repeated gestures and by the environment.
On this occasion, the company met various professionals:
psychologists, doctors, trade unionists, sociologists
- creation
A choreographic piece for 4 dancers and 3 musicians
is being made. Several steps have been planned up to May
2005 with a preview on 21 May 2005 in Lisbon at the CCB
(Cultural Centre of Belém) and a first night/premiere
on 28 May 2005 at the Theater of Montemor-o-Novo. The creation
Qué Calor will be played in France from July 2005,
and the show requires the figuration of 15 anonymous and
voluntary people met in each place of playing.
- exchanges
Discussions and public meetings in the places where
the show is performed (firms or showrooms) have been planned
before and after each playing. These should bring the crossing
of professional worlds, points of view and experiments.
An exhibition of the photographs realised by François
Deneulin and Michel Cavalca while visiting firm factories
will be part of the creation and will be another means of
testifying and exchanging around the project.
