| "
The pleasure will be and what is good is what is prolonging
in other means of prolonging it.
The ability is there. The
time is no more the one of the sign of the curse justified
by the mistakes or of the sign of the impossibility inability.
Everything is possible now. In the money doctrine everybody
can make money from nothing, as from himself, as from his
will of his penetration of the idea of the money value as
sublime value."
Christophe Tarkos

This play evolves with a growing tension flowing from C.Tarkos's
words. Annabelle, Célia, Pascal, Jean and Louis are
always on the alert. The powerful, involved dance leaps between
hot carnal moments and an icy coldness. This dance chisels
space, moves into the bodies which embrace or bump into each
other, then tame each other and become integrated.
Gathered on the public square, at the Stock Exchange, they
observe, call to one another, calculate and act. The chain
of duos, of face-to-faces with oneself or with others, accentuates
the link the dancers weave with money and the influence it
has on their behaviour.
The text is used through its musicality, its rhythms, its
sounds and its meaning. The play intertwines text, dance and
music and moves back and forth between these elements to install
a dialogue.

In Christophe Tarkos's text, there is a real tension, a true
dialectic between reality and our imaginary world.
Within this space, he ill-treats our ancient values by exposing
us to the fire of a reality we have built up. Money as the
one and only value, at the root of our pulsions and passions.
But he never bridges the gap between comedy and tragedy which
lies hidden behind every word, every intention - the driving
force of our movements.

Curiosity
is the driving force of Compagnie Lanabel led by Annabelle Bonnéry
- choreographer and François Deneulin. Their common desire
to make encounters encourages them to work upon projects which
go beyond the limits of dance and come back enhanced by other
worlds and preoccupations.
Thus after tackling the world of industry with Qué Calor
, then the world of scientific research with Virus-Antivirus,
they have started working on Christophe Tarkos's book "
La valeur sublime" ( The Sublime Value) . Published in
1998 by Le Grand Os in Toulouse, this book of art is a re-working
of his former text " L'Argent" ( Money) illustrated
by photos from the artist Larry Gianettino.
They get dancers together and question the text during creativity
workshops led by Magali Cros ( a study engineer who does research
on "usage"). Indeed this show cannot be the work
of one person only but reunites on the stage dancers Pascal
Allio, Annabelle Bonnéry and Célia Gondol, musician
Louis Paralis with whom they have been working for many years,
as well as Jean von Roesgen and François Deneulin,
both a voice and a presence.

Take this team and plunge them into the linearity of the
text. Then provoke duo and trio performances. Observation,
constantly alert, they will sway from game to violence, from
desire to interest, from irony to cynicism within the ambiguity
of human relationships.
The bare connection between man and his acts, without the
burden of his conscience but driven by the desire to exist
whatever happens as long as it is enriching.
-Excite- tries to hold this instant before tragedy arrives,
to slow down the rising chaos , to allow to appear the last
scraps of humanity that we still possess.
Before the spiral accelerates.
